June Elaine Dannatt, 81
June Elaine Dannatt, a native of Ainsworth, NE, died February 3, 2017, in Omaha, NE, following a lengthy illness. June was born June 4, 1935, at the Ainsworth Hospital to Evert B. and Zeta Mercer Dannatt. She grew up on the Dannatt ranch south of Ainsworth and attended country school. She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1953. She moved to Denver where she obtained a business diploma from Central Business College. She remained in Denver for a number of years, working and gaining experience in several larger companies. She also obtained a liberal arts degree from the University of Colorado while living in Denver. Over the years, June also lived and worked in Dallas, TX, and in the San Francisco Bay area of California. In the late 1980s, she moved to North Platte to be closer to family. While in North Platte, June attended Mid-Plains Community College and earned an associate’s degree in business. She was employed by the Nebraska Development Center in North Platte. In the mid-1990s, June moved to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology in 1997. June was an executive and management consultant, having had a long career in business administration and management. Her career spawned both small- and medium-size businesses, as well as major corporations. Her skills covered marketing, project management, human-resource management and general management consulting. June had a Nebraska Sandhills’ work ethic, and a curiosity about business, religion, health and the world around her. She was self-taught in many areas, and amassed a large library to provide her the tools to learn. Although she never had a family of her own, she was a devoted aunt, remembering birthdays and Christmases generously. Surviving her are her nieces and nephews, Jolene (Chad) Larson of Tilden, Jim Brown III of Sidney, Bryan Dannatt of Wauneta, Bruce (Joanie Reynolds) Dannatt of Ainsworth, Blair (Denise) Dannatt of North Platte, and Brett Dannatt of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Pat Dannatt of North Platte, and a brother-in-law, Jim Brown Jr. of Tilden; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Zeta, and her father and step-mother, Evert and Lena Dannatt; her sister, JoLoy Brown; and her brother, Jerry Dannatt.A private graveside service was conducted Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, in the Ainsworth Cemetery.
