Street repair weighs heavy on council
by Sherry Bertram
The Gregory City Council met at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the Gregory City Hall.
Old high school high on Taggart’s mind
The state of the old high school was on Mona Taggart’s mind as she attended the meeting to question the council about what can be done about what she perceived to be a health hazard. She would like to see the building condemned.
Mayor Anshutz noted that the code enforcer has addressed issues outside the building but isn’t allowed to go inside private property. Windows that are broken aren’t broken all the way through. He advised Taggart that the owner could be contacted to see what his plans are for the building. He is behind on his taxes but has a building permit with the city to do some work on the structure.
Shana Flakus pointed out that the owner has posted no trespassing signs. As long as the building is maintained on the outside, they can’t do anything.
