Friends Jared Opp and Mark Braun completed a goal that had been years in the making for very different time spans for each when they ran a half-marathon in Mitchell over the past weekend.
Monte and Delorus Krizan of Dallas, SD, know autism. Their grandson Sam is on the autism spectrum, and he is not alone. Today, one in 59 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is a developmental disability. 500,000 teens with autism will enter adulthood in the next decade. Currently, suitable housing options are limited, and only 15% of adults with autism have full-time employment.
King Rhoss Oliver and Queen Samantha Timanus were crowned last Tuesday evening at Gregory’s Homecoming Coronation. The ceremony was held at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Runners up were John Stevicks and Gayla Waldner. Other queen candidates were Brynn Hylla, Keeley Klein and Ivy Zimmerman. King candidates were Zane McMillen, Reece Odenbach and Jordan Vosika. Crown bearers were Elias Fiebelkorn and Hailie Lutt.
The Gregory County Board of Commissioners held a public meeting Monday, September 28, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in the community room at the Burke Civic Center and via Zoom with Highway Superintendent Brad Ellwanger giving the report by speaker phone. The purpose of the meeting was to review the proposed five-year county road plan.
