Brown County Devastated By Over 10 Inches Of Rain

Heavy rains and high winds hit Brown County on Tuesday, September 10th and Wednesday, September 11th in two separate storms.

The September 10th storm dumped over five inches of rain across Brown County; washing out some culverts and county roads; along with washing out approaches to many bridges.

Gerry Osborn, NOAA Cooperative Weather Observer, reported Ainsworth logged 4.37 inches in a rain fall Tuesday night, September 10th and Wednesday night, September 11th, Ainsworth received another 3.64 inches for a total of 8.01 inches. He reported Ainsworth received very brief modest amount of marble size hail last night. According to Osborn, the 8.01 inches is roughly 36% of Ainsworth’s annual rainfall. Other residents in Ainsworth and Brown County reported excess of 10 inches plus from the two rains.
