Check out the bison at Fort Niobrara NWR
Spring has a special essence. It’s about new life. Ranchers see it from the beginning of February on through May. While most of Cherry County may have access to new calf life, there are still many who don’t.
This week Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge will have the bison in the pasture closest to their visitor center. Project Leader Steve Hicks said, “This would be a good time to see the herd with new bison calves. Viewing them from the county road or the refuge auto tour route will be easy.”
