Congratulations Class of 2024

Saturday, May 11, 2024, was a big day for the graduating class of 2024! Cody-Kilgore and Valentine each held commencement exercises. Cody-Kilgore held their exercises at 10:00 a.m. MST. Their class colors were black, white, and orange, with the orange ranunculus as their class flower. Class song was Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi, and class motto: “The old rules are crumbling and no one knows what the new rules are,” Neil Gaiman. Mobile Food Pantry for Cherry County residents

Valentine, Nebraska, May 21, 2024 — The Community Services Program at Northwest Community Action Partnership (NCAP) and the Food Bank of the Heartland will sponsor a mobile food pantry May 21, 2024, at the Cherry County Fairgrounds located in Valentine NE. The mobile will start at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and please use the north entrance.

Free curbside lunches for summer youth at VHS

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Valentine Community Schools to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.

Incidents/Arrests On 04/28/2024 at 8:19 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Highway 20. Following the deployment of narcotic detection dog K9 Baker, a 39 year old woman and a 22 year old man, both from South Dakota, were cited for possession of marijuana less than one ounce and drug paraphernalia.
