Lisa and Randy Schneider have new titles – Grandma and Grandpa! Liam Rhys Casimiro was born this past week to Shannon Schneider and Jahnn Casimiro. Momma and baby are doing well and Grandma is over the moon! Local Great Grandma is Lucille Schneider of Cody and Henry Schneider is the designated Fun Uncle. Congratulations to all.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As a mammographer at Cherry County Hospital, I get asked a lot of questions about mammograms. With October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this seems like an opportune time to share the answers I’ve given. The following are the most frequently asked questions I have received over the years: What is a mammogram? A mammogram is an x-ray exam of breast tissue performed to screen for breast cancer. In a routine screening exam, typically two images at different angles are taken of each breast for a total of four images.

Nebraska to participate in TANF Fiscal Responsibility Act pilot

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen announced that Nebraska is one of five states that will be part of a pilot program designed to improve the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, as required through the Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA). Word of the selection came from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its Administration for Children and Families (ACF).
