Paper Shredding truck is coming September 29

Are you still hanging on to years’ worth of paperwork “just in case”? The North Central Nebraska RC&D shredding event is here to help. The opportunity to safely dispose of financial papers, medical records, and other sensitive documents will take place on September 29, 2025.

Nebraska updated move over law and increased fines

The Nebraska Department of Transportation reminded drivers that the state’s updated move-over law took effect September 3, 2025. Previously the move-over law applied only to emergency and roadside assistance vehicles.

Troopers make 80 DUI arrests in end-of-summer campaign

September 4, 2025 - Lincoln, NE - Nebraska State Troopers removed 80 impaired drivers from the road during the last few weeks of the summer travel season. The arrests came during a nationwide campaign focused on impaired driving, called Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

Guided foraging hike at Fort Falls Trail

Valentine, NE – Visitors to Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge are invited to join National Park Service rangers and an American Conservation Corps intern on a new guided foraging program which explores the edible, medicinal, and culturally significant plants that thrive along the Fort Falls Trail, Saturday, September 6, 2025. The program will be offered at 10:00 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m., CST.
