Dale R. Kyser, 71

Dale R. Kyser, 71, of Oshkosh passed away December 29, 2023, at Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh. Dale’s funeral service was held on January 9, 2024, at the Tiger Den in Lewellen. A private burial will be on January 11, 2024, at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, south of Crookston.

Sena Mae (Johnson) Richard was born in Rosebud, SD on October 30, 1980 to Connie Cox and Ray Johnson. She married the love of her life, Michael Richard, on February 29, 2012.

Cecelis A. Johnson, 56

Cecelis Ablan Johnson was born on November 22, 1967, in Mindanao, Philippines, to Alejandro Ablan and Victoria Galano Gantala. After a courageous battle with cancer where her faith allowed her to exceed all expectations, she passed away in her beloved home on December 21, 2023, in Valentine.

Shirley Tate, 88

Shirley Tate, age 88 of Winner, SD, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Winner Long Term Care Center. She was born to Earl and Christine (Schmidt) Luedke on July 26, 1935 in Todd County, SD.

Carol Marlene Flowerday, 81

Marlene was born May 26, 1942 to Charles and Frank (Anderson) Faubion in Cody. She departed this life on December 4, 2023 in Mossyrock, WA at the age of 81.

Catherine Irene Berger, 79

Catherine Irene Berger, age 79, succumbed to cancer on December 8, 2023. The oldest of seven children, she was born in Jacksonville, FL on June 20, 1944 to parents Edwin and Alberta Berger. Known as “Cathy” to her family and Catherine to everyone else, she was raised on a farm north of Auburn, NE graduating Auburn High School. Catherine earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE and a Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA.

James D. Pahlke, 50

James Dale Pahlke was called home to be with his Lord on December 5, 2023, from his home in Boynton Beach, FL. He was born May 12, 1973 in Winner, SD to Dale and Linda Pahlke.

Taylor K. Lafferty, 14

Taylor Kyle Lafferty was born on February 5, 2009 in Valentine to Cheyenne Weston and Craig Lafferty. Taylor made his journey to the Spirit World on November 28, 2023 at Hidden Timber, Mission, SD.

Quincy D. Skinner, 88

Quincy Delano Skinner, 88, of Merriman, passed away Monday, November 20 at his home on the ranch. He was born July 5, 1935 to Byron V. and Pearle J. (Beyersdorf) Skinner in Gordon. He grew up seven miles west of Merriman with his parents and siblings, Junie and Jerry. A very special person in his life while growing up was his Pa, Paul H. Beyersdorf.

Lawrence T. Johnson, 85

Lawrence Thomas Johnson was born October 5, 1938, in Ainsworth, the third child of Margaret Jane and John Lyle Johnson. His grade school years were spent in Burwell, Minden, Cozad, Broken Bow, and finally rural Cherry County. When the family moved to the Mission Ranch north of Kilgore, Larry attended the Sunshine School for 7th and 8th grade. He went to O’Neill St. Mary’s for High School where he made life-long friends that still kept in contact with him until his death. He was a member of the football team, track team, choir, and drama. He graduated in 1956. He attended Chadron State College from 19571960 where he participated in choir and drama, and took classes in art, woodworking, and drafting, among others.
