Barbara Morlang, 82

Come share in the memorial service for Barbara (Foster) Morlang, age 82 of Rolla MO, formerly of Ainsworth. Barbara passed from this life into the next on Wednesday, August 3 in Rolla after a valiant 12-year battle with multiple myeloma. A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the New Apostolic Church, 940 N. 1st Street, Ainsworth. A light lunch will be provided after. Memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to the Brown County Hospital Auxiliary.

Erika C. Cox, 67

Erika Christene Cox was born to Henry and Wilamene Cox on July 11, 1955, and brought home to Calf Creek Ranch north of Mullen. There she joined her siblings Judith, Kay, and A.B. She passed this life on August 14, 2022, at her home in Mullen.

Ardith Morton, 95

Ardith Mardell (Hale/ Bauer) Morton died May 10, 2022, at her home in Cheney, WA at the age of 95. She was born October 10 , 1926, at Tuthill, SD to Taylor and Mae Hale. She was raised in the Eli area, going to school at Eli. She completed high school at Cody High School in 1944. After graduation Ardith signed up to train in a wartime nursing program for the military in Washington state. That program was halted when the war ended, and Ardith proceeded to obtain her nursing degree through Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and received her nursing degree on January 8, 1946.

Paul D. Zysset, 84

Paul D. Zysset, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Hemingford Community Care Center. Paul was born at home in rural Frontier County, Nebraska on October 17, 1937 to Carl C. and Aurie V. (Buker) Zysset. He was the fourth of eight children. He started grade school in a rural school south of Eustis and completed grade school at Hilltop District across from the home place. Paul attended high school at the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture, graduating in 1955. He married Enid E. Barnes on April 14, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Curtis. Three children were born to this union.

Marlene M. Dykes, 88

Marlene Mae DeWitt Dykes was born April 12, 1934, the first of eight children of Russell and Ghita DeWitt. Marlene loved being part of a large family and counted her sisters as her best friends. Marlene was a studious child and began reading the daily paper at a young age. In high school she was involved in band, choir, attended the Methodist church, was a Jobs Daughter Honored Queen and worked. Marlene graduated as salutatorian of her class in 1952 with the plan of becoming a teacher. She attended Chadron State College but left to marry Max H Dykes on August 16, 1953. Marlene assumed she would be a ranch wife. Both Max and Marlene were family oriented and not surprisingly raised a large family of their own. Their first child was born in 1954 and over the next ten years they added 5 more. Those ten years saw many changes with Max becoming a teacher and the family moving to various towns. Marlene was out of necessity at this time a stay-at-home Mom.

Gregg E. Harris, 67

Gregg Earl Harris, age 67, passed away on August 3, 2022, in Watonga, OK. He was born to Douglas Earl Harris and Maurine (Mo) Hutchison Harris on October 22, 1954, in Valentine.

Walter R. Carstens, 75

Walter Raymond Carstens was born June 17, 1947 in Valentine. He was the fourth child born to Herman and Wren Ward Carstens.

Anna L. Prindle, 96

Anna Lillian Prindle, 96 went peacefully to meet her Lord on August 1, 2022. Lillian was born on March 4, 1926 in Cascade northwest of Purdum. Her parents were John and Nelda Keller who homesteaded in the Cascade area.

Janice M. Bristol, 74

Janice M. Bristol, 74, formerly of Valentine, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at Amberwell Hospital in Atchison, KS.

Franklin W. Rempp, 89

Mass of Christian Burial for Franklin Rempp, age 89, of Spencer, were Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton, SD. Reverend Thi Pham will be Celebrant, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Yankton.
