Ruth Louise Stevens was born on January 15, 1928, in Hyannis to Ralph and Charlotte (Lottie) Stevens of Ashby. Ruth attended elementary school at the one-room Locust School, at the east end of the valley where she grew up.

Harold J Lurz was born September 26, 1939 north of Valentine to Herbert and Ida (Schulz). He passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home in Valentine.

James Keith Kreycik, 90, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022 at his home in Windsor, CO surrounded by family. He was born on May 6, 1931 to Jim and Edna Kreycik on the family ranch near Wood Lake. He was the fifth child of six children.

Eleanor Ruth (Davis) Roggasch was born on March 7, 1936 at Sumpter, OR, to Alfred and Dorothy (Lynn) Davis. She passed away on January 11, 2022 at the age of 85 years, 10 Months, and 4 days in Omaha.

Lana S. Higgins, 71, of Lincoln passed away January 14, 2022 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Lana was born in Lincoln on June 24, 1950 to Pierce and Helen Raubach; and resided in Valentine. Her brother, William Pierce Raubach, 2nd Lt US Army, was killed in action in Vietnam 1968. She graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1972, and married Dave Higgins the same year. They raised two daughters, Erin and Jenna, and resided in Valentine until retirement. Dave and Lana just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 Marilyn Ruth (Hull) Heinert was born on October 15, 1930, in Rosebud, SD, to Everett and Freda (Whipple) Hull.

Dennis Lloyd Fullerton, 80, of Valentine passed away on January 7, 2022. Dennis was born on January 20, 1941, to Rolland and Pearl (Todd) Fullerton in Valentine.

James Ocie Alsworth Perrett known by everyone as “Ocie,” was born September 16, 1929 to George Fredrick Perrett and Ruth Marie Alsworth Perrett at Hyannis in the house on the hill at the north end of Main Street. At the age of 92 Ocie passed from this life into the joy of heaven not because he deserved it, but because he had trusted Jesus as his Savior.

Carl Raymond Lurz was born February 20, 1937 in Valentine and passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Great Plains Health, North Platte. The third born child of seven, Carl attended Crookston Grade School until eighth grade, when he left school to assist on the family ranch.

Margaret Kathern (Peg) Liberator a longtime resident of Valentine passed away at the Rock County Long Term Care facility in Bassett, on Thursday December 30, 2021 at the age of 105 years. She was born on November 30, 1916 to Charles and Jessie (Lake) Martin in Hopwood, PA.
