I was not shocked, just disappointed when Governor Jim Pillen announced that he was going to reduce Nebraska’s collective property taxes by $2 billion this year, somehow. Imagine that.

The world is quickly becoming a much more dangerous place. The global situation is steadily deteriorating into a growing number of armed conflicts. In some cases, the conflict already directly involves a country with nuclear weapons, with increasing risk of involving another nuclear power. The enemies of the U.S.A. are growing in their nuclear capability as well. Any sober examination of this country’s national security threats will conclude they are increasing. The likelihood of actually needing USSTRATCOM at Offutt AFB in Bellevue to be ready to deploy America’s nuclear deterrence to defend the country is increasing.

Last session, 820 bills were introduced. Given the never-ending filibuster by a few senators last year, only 50 bills were signed into law by the Governor.
