Should state funds be used for Memorial Stadium updates?

There has been no formal request, but speculation runs high that the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Department may ask for funds to help with the planned $450 million renovation of Memorial Stadium.

The law...

My office continues to receive a high volume of calls about constitutional carry and state preemption. When LB 77 was passed and signed into law back in April of this year, many people thought the fight was over. Here is the current version of Nebraska Statute § 13-330: (1) The Legislature finds and declares that the regulation of the ownership, possession, storage, transportation, sale, and transfer of firearms and other weapons is a matter of statewide concern.

Your gastrointestinal system – no reason to be grossed out!

A common lament I hear from my patients as they try to discuss a real concern they have about their body: “I’m sorry; this is so disgusting!” Their cheeks burn with shame as they tell me how their bowels have betrayed them. No matter what the issue is, so many of my patients are mortified discussing their diarrhea, constipation, fecal incontinence. My response, always, is “you can’t gross me out – we talk about poop every day in this clinic!”

In this case, the United States is especially affected. Hamas killed American citizens in its assaults on innocent people across Israel. It is holding American citizens hostage underground in Gaza. Hamas has American blood on its hands.

EPIC tax = untaxing farming and ranching

At the American Legion post in Rushville, I was honored by Nebraskans for Founders Values (NFFV). They are a conservative citizen-led organization that helps get good bills introduced and passed in the legislature. They are a growing organization and they are becoming more effective each year. I am honored they chose to recognize me with the NFFV Legislator of the Year award.

Addressing our affordability crisis

Economic hardships brought about by severe inflation and supply chain challenges continue, creating an ongoing affordability crisis in our country. Small businesses and families across the nation have had to make difficult choices and dig into savings to make ends meet in recent years. Inflation hits hardest those who can least afford it: those on fixed and low incomes. Seniors struggling to stretch their savings have little recourse when prices go up but their earnings do not.
