Shadbolt will represent Nebraska at PRCA Finals again

Merriman cowboy Garrett Shadbolt didn’t anticipate that he would go to the Wrangler Pro Cowboy’s Rodeo in Las Vegas as the 15th and last qualifier in the bareback riding. But, under the circumstances, he’ll take it.

XC team excels

The UNK meet was held Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Kearney Country Club. Both the boys and girls varsity teams ran. The boys class C race had 301 runners while the class C girls race had 182 runners. In all classes, both boys and girls, there were a total of 1,474 runners.

Lady Badgers play hard

October 4, 2022, the Lady Badgers hosted a triangular with Gothenburg,and Ogallala and were bested by both teams. The first game against the Lady Swedes, the Lady Badgers lost 1925, 9-25.

Badgers shut out Hershey 33-0

Friday, October 7, 2022, the Badgers hosted Hershey, and won with a score of 32-0. Coach Ian Bish said, “It was a great team with guys stepping up and filling in for guys that were out.

Cody Kilgore had a good week

The Cowboys traveled to Sioux County where they took on the Warriors for their Homecoming and Parent’s night. The Cowboys came home victorious with a score of 53-15.

VHS Band members participate in Homecoming Band Day!

On October 1, 2022, three students from Valentine High School’s Badger Band traveled to Chadron to participate in Homecoming Band Day. Those attending were Saylor Biltoft, Grant Springer, and Marybelle Ward. Students played pep band with the Chadron State Eagle Band and several other high school bands to enhance the football game with their music. They enjoyed watching the game as they played!!

VHS Choir Presents Lost in the 50s Fall Concert

Do you love hula hoops? Saddle shoes? The Fonz? Do you wish you could go back to enjoy a malt at your favorite malt shop? For one night only you can!! The Valentine High School Choir will present a concert titled Lost in the 50s, on Thursday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. This is a concert that you will not want to miss!! Students have been working on choral selections, small groups, and solos all with popular music from the 1950s.

Cody-Kilgore celebrates Homecoming!

Tuesday, September 27, 2022, the Cowgirls traveled to Valentine for a triangular with the Badgers and North Central Knights. Cowgirls had some tough luck, losing both games in two sets.

Badgers play hard, lose to Gordon-Rushville

“Our kids battled and played extremely hard for all four quarters. Us coaches saw a lot of really good things from a football aspect in all three facets of the game but we have plenty of things that we need to clean up. We are excited for another opportunity to fix these things on Friday in Hershey,” said Coach Ian Bish.
