    Herding your way through fall grazing

    After having dry conditions across the Sandhills, this fall has offered something we haven’t seen in a while—lush, green pastures stretching across the hills. Thanks to generous rainfall and lingering warm weather, many cool-season grasses have rebounded beautifully.

The Valentine Elementary School fourth graders are invited to play a couple of songs with Daniel. This event is free to the public. A free will donation will be taken at the door.

    Friends of the Niobrara receive $50,000 grant from the National Park Foundation

    Friendsof theNiobrara is proud to share they have received a $50,000 grant from the National Park Foundation (NPF), the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. Awarded as part of the Collective Campaign, a cornerstone of The Campaign for National Parks, this grant will help advance Friends’ ongoing commitment to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the Niobrara National Scenic River— for everyone, forever.

    West 4th Street Construction update

    The construction project on West 4th Street (HWY 83 North) is nearing completion. Placement of the concrete roadway and sidewalks is complete.

    Lady Badgers return from NSAA State Golf!

    The 2025 Lady Badger golf season has come to an end. The girls played at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte on Monday, October 13, and Tuesday, October 14, for the NSAA State tournament.
