NDEE invites students to submit calendar contest entries

Lincoln - The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) has sent invitations to schools across the state, seeking student entries for the 2025 Nebraska: Don’t Waste It! environmental calendar. The contest is open to all Nebraska students from grades K through 12, and the submission deadline is May 1, 2024.

Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is currently accepting applications to attend one of the biggest ag youth outreach events in the state. The Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI) brings together hundreds of high school juniors and seniors for a week to learn more about agriculture - Nebraska’s number one industry.

Holl and Mulligan exchange vows

Mr. and Mrs. Cory Holl and Mrs. Judy Mulligan are pleased to announce the marriage of their children, Rilee and Caleb, son of the late Mark Mulligan, on September 3, 2023. The beautiful outdoor ceremony was at Sparks Barn, near Louisville, officiated by Jed Fenske along with Guy Fenske saying a prayer and having a special tribute to the groom’s father.

Nebraska voters can now submit early voting applications

Nebraskans who would like to vote early for the May 14, 2024, statewide primary can now submit early voting applications to their county election office. Voters can either download the early voting applications from the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website, or they can request an application from their county election office.

Open Plains Transit to provide FREE rides beginning February 1

“What better way to show our love for the work we do through public transportation, than to go “fare free” and what better way to show our love of community and to the people in Valentine, than to kick this off February 1st, right here in Heart City!” announces Jonnie Kusek, Director of Transportation for Open Plains Transit (OPT). This is the only community where OPT provides transportation services, that they are offering free rides as part of those services.
