Another great year of music, public speaking, and talent was celebrated at the annual Cherry County 4-H Communications and Expressive Arts Contest which was held February 23, 2024. Clinton Albertus judged music/ talent and Celeste Rogers judged speech.

Oahe Hoopla Tournament Champs

Six third graders and one second grader, traveled to Pierre, SD, Saturday, February 17, 2024 to compete in a five team, round robin, third grade basketball tournament. The young team had a strong performance finishing the day with a 3-0-1 record.

Missing Children’s Day poster winner

Lincoln – Each year, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office invites fifth graders from across the state to participate in the Nebraska Missing Children’s Day poster contest. The posters are intended to raise awareness of missing children and remind parents, guardians, and caregivers to make the safety of their children a priority.

Badgers season ends with 10-11 record

The Badgers traveled to Summerland - Clearwater, Ewing, Orchard, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and fell with a score of 46-54. Scoring by quarter: Valentine - 9, 16, 13, 8 = 46 Summerland - 18, 12, 13, 11 = 54 Isaac Cronin was the lead scorer with 20; Dominic Beebout and Andon Olson each had 8; Trystan Beebout and Lex Larsen each with 5.

Nebraska 4-H accepting nominations for annual volunteer recognition awards

Lincoln, February 15, 2024 — Nebraska 4-H is now accepting nominations for a new awards program to recognize the outstanding contributions of 4-H volunteers across the state. The Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Recognition Awards honors adult and youth volunteers, as well as and multi-generational families, who have provided meaningful contributions to Nebraska 4-H.
