The Badger Volleyball team has had a winning week. They are 2-1 this week, with victories against Cody-Kilgore and Hershey Panthers.

Fire Prevention Week: Protect your family by practicing home fire escape plan, testing smoke alarms. Home fires claim more lives in a typical year than all natural disasters combined.

The VMS Football team played Winner last week. The 8th-grade team beat the Winner Warriors 52-6. This is the first time they've beaten Winner in a few years. It was a great game to watch, with defensive turnovers, kickoff-return TDs, and fumble recoveries turned into touchdowns. The team has grown and improved their record to 3-2.

State Bound for the Lady Badger golfers! The girls took second place as a team at Districts in Ogallala, shooting a 419 on the Crandall Creek course! Rylee Wackler placed 10th with a 102 and Tierney placed third with a 91. “Super proud of all these gals and looking forward to what Lake Maloney in North Platte has in store for us next Monday and Tuesday!!” said Coach Ashley McSweeney.

The Middle School Badger Football team traveled to Broken Bow on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The Badgers started off with a great run, scoring a touchdown in the first minute of action and didn't stop. The defense held Broken Bow scoreless for 4 quarters, and the 8th grade team won 31-0.

The results from the Gordon- Rushville Invite, held September 24, 2026 at the Gordon Country Club are as follows. Girls 2,500 Meter Middle School results are as follows: 10th place, Amelia Wonnemberg, 11:34.1 PB.

Valentine Invite called with just two to three holes left on the day! Thunder, lightning and hard rain set in when the meet was about to wrap up. Unfortunately, the tournament was called because the weather wasn’t letting up!

The Badgers traveled to McCook and faced Cambridge, Gering, and Maywood/HayCenter.TheBadgers won against Cambridge in two sets with the scores of 25-23 and 26-24, then lost to Gering (ranked #2 in class C1) in two with the scores of 21-25 and 19-25, and took Maywood in three; the scores were 26-24, 2325, 23-25.

The Sparks Spurs of Cowboy Fast Draw Association will hold their annual fall shoot from September 25 -27 at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine. For several years the Sparks Nebraska Spurs have hosted gunfighters from several states at this event.
