Sherry L. Fladebo, 85, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Sumner Place Nursing Home in Lincoln, NE.

Daniel J. Brinda, 91, was born in Valentine, NE on September 8, 1935 to Charles and Anna Brinda. He passed away in Wichita, KS on October 11, 2026. He enjoyed working with his hands, doing woodworking, and welding. He spent his later years working on puzzles and watching EWTN. Daniel’s Catholic faith was very important to him and he could be found saying the rosary and leading a rosary group.

Gordon Wesley Hitchcock was born in Ainsworth, NE on May 19, 1943 to Howard and Edna (Pelster) Hitchcock. He went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on September 26, 2026. Gordon was raised on the family ranch 22 miles south of Ainsworth. He attended grade school at Raven District #3, and high school at Ainsworth High School. After a year working on construction, he ended up spending the rest of his life on the ranch.

Philip Otto Rosfeld was born June 17, 1938, to Victor and Alice (Voss) Rosfeld. He grew up on a farm/ranch southwest of Rushville, NE, attending school in a one room schoolhouse with his siblings and cousins. He went on to graduate from Rushville High School in 1955. Blessed with an inclination for music from an early age, he studied and graduated from Chadron State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He went on to teach high school music and band in Lyman and Valentine. In 1963, he took the Valentine High School marching band to Portland, OR where they led off the Rose Festival Parade. While teaching in Valentine, he met and married the catch of his life, Elizabeth “Ann” Colburn, on March 7, 1964. They went on to celebrate 62 years and three sons together. Otto continued his teaching career in Holyoke CO, Cheyenne WY, Bridgeport, Republican Valley, and Brule before returning to Valentine for many years. He retired from teaching in 1994.

Betty Jean Morehouse age 97, was born on October 4, 1929, in Detroit, MI, to Nolan and Verna Morehouse. Betty lived there until she was a junior in high school then her family moved to Valentine and built a cement business. Betty’s senior year, she started in Valentine and decided she wanted to graduate with her friends in Detroit and moved back after Christmas. During Christmas break in Valentine, she went to a dance and met the love of her life.

Celebration of Life visitation for Reva F. Bassler age 74 of Plainview, NE will be April 17, 2027 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview, NEa. Reva passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on October 8, 2026. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.snidermemorial. com Reva Faye Bassler was born on April 16, 1952 to Robert M. and Dorothy May (Brown) Ellis in Valentine, NE. She graduated from Kilgore High School and attended College for Secretary at Rapid City, SD for one year and Central Wyoming College for one year. She used her college education working with magazines and newspapers as an editor. She enjoyed reading, baking with her grandchildren, sewing, and embroidery.

Roger D. Davis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 3, 2026 in Green Valley, AZ at the age of 85.

Jon Harding was the second-born son of Forrest and Jean Harding of Mullen, born September 4, 1946, in Alliance. He grew up south of town on the family ranch, graduating from Mullen High School with the class of ’64.

Thomas Anderson Lee was born January 29, 1974, in Valentine, NE, to John and Kay Lee. The youngest of three children, Thomas grew up alongside his older brother, John, and sister, Christy. He passed away September 22, 2026.

Margaret Olga Colburn passed away October 3, 2026. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair, NE. Graveside services will be held in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, NE at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2026.
