Omaha – Each year, U.S. News & World Report evaluates more than 4,700 hospitals nationwide to develop their annual list of Best Hospitals. Again, Nebraska Medical Center is the No. 1 rated hospital in the Omaha metro area and the state of Nebraska. In addition, five specialties were listed as high performing.

LINCOLN, (AP)-State health officials have reported Nebraska's first human case this year of West Nile virus. A county health department officials in northeastern Nebraska reported a person there had tested positive for the mosquito-borne illness, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services reported Friday.

Lincoln--Attorney General Doug Peterson announced a historic $26 billion multistate agreement that will help bring desperately needed relief to people across the country who are struggling with opioid addiction. The agreement includes Cardinal, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen – the nation’s three major pharmaceutical distributors – and Johnson and Johnson, which manufactured and marketed opioids. The agreement also requires significant industry changes that will help prevent this type of crisis from ever happening again.

However, carbon monoxide exposures can happen any time of year, especially during natural disasters and power outages. It is imperative that the citizens understand the dangers, the symptoms and how to prevent poisoning from carbon monoxide.

(July 10, 2021) OMAHA-The severe storms in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa early Saturday morning left behind a trail of damage for residents. The Omaha Public Power District has already called the storm one of the worst for outages in recent history, with more than 170,000 customers reportedly experiencing no electricity.
