Recently, while visiting from out of state, my father had a “health hiccup.” As we navigated getting this problem investigated and addressed, he was very concerned that we keep his primary care doctor informed. As my dad has said repeatedly, “I give him more grief than any of my other doctors, but I also listen to him more than any of my other doctors. He’s the only one looking out for all of me!”

BBB Serving Nebraska Warning: Local victims targeted by employment scams

Amid a nationwide surge in remote employment interest, scammers have infiltrated the job market. The Better Business Bureau has received more than a dozen reports of employment scams this year in Nebraska alone, which has cost victims more than $10,000.

November is National Family Caregiver’s Month

Lincoln – Caregiving is a tough job. During November, caregivers of every kind are recognized, whether it be taking a relative to a doctor’s office, managing medications, or the overall care of a loved one.

Refrigerator Storage for Produce

Do foods spoil quickly in the refrigerator? Maximize refrigerator storage of foods that produce ethylene. Ethylene is a gas that is produced by fresh produce which initiates the ripening process. To reduce unnecessary spoilage of produce, do not store ethylene producing fruits and vegetables with foods that are sensitive to ethylene gas in the refrigerator at 40°F or below.

Cherry County Extension to offer free workshop

Nebraska extension is offering a “Collect. Balance. Reconcile. File.” workshop in Valentine from 11:00 a.m. to noon on November 10, at the Cherry County Extension office, 365 N. Main Street Suite 3.
