August traffic fatality toll

September 15, 2025, Lincoln, NE — During the month of August 2025, 22 people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

During the week of September 7-13, the following arrests were reported by the Valentine Police Department: • On September 7, at 2:47 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle idling in the road in the 100 block of North Cherry Street. A 26 year old Nebraska man was arrested for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol.

The National Center for Education Statistics reports that one out of every five students reports being bullied, although many people do not admit to it occurring, so bullying might be even more prevalent than statistics indicate. The primary reasons for being bullied include physical appearance, race/ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, and sexual orientation.

Board of Adjustment votes 3-2 to uphold zoning administrator’s findings against BSH

In recent editions of the Valentine Midland News, Cherry CountyZoningAdministratorJane Stolzenburg shared her findings of permit violations against BSH Blue Stem, including the end date of their wind project as October 15, 2024. BSH Blue Stem stated otherwise, and shared that several of her permit findings were incorrect, including their deposit.
