Nebraska hospitality at its best with the Governor’s Pine Ridge Turkey Hunt

I was once again fortunate enough to participate in the Governor’s Pine Ridge Turkey Hunt. This is the sixth year I’ve been able to join with a number of my fellow Senators and the Governor, and showcase the hospitality and beauty of northwest Nebraska.

Longcor was a great County Clerk

Dear Editor, With great sadness, I listened to Cherry County Clerk, Brittny Longcor’s resignation at the October 8, Commissioners’ Meeting. I have often commented to her how I am continually amazed at her knowledge, composure, integrity, personal and people skills, and dedication to her job in one so young. I watched her in some difficult situations handle herself with restraint and professionalism.

Don’t destroy the Senate, Kamala Harris

d.C . by U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts Vice President Kamala Harris has shown us repeatedly that she’s willing to abandon her alleged principles to make her radical agenda more appealing to the American people. It’s misleading and dishonest. Recently, she shared that the latest principle she’s willing to abandon is the U.S. Senate filibuster. By doing so, she would be burning down an American institution to force her radical policies through Congress. It’s a slap in the face to tens of millions of commonsense Americans who will vote for their U.S. Senators. I’m going to fight her efforts with everything I have.

Problem gambling took down one of the greatest baseball players ever

Was driving home from a fishing trip the other day when I heard the news – Pete Rose, probably the best hitter in the history of baseball, had died. When I played in high school, I used a “Pete Rose” Louisville Slugger bat.

A solution for struggling hospitals

Nebraska’s rural hospitals are struggling. This summer, I visited several hospitals, clinics, and health centers across the state.

COS initiative

I was recently contacted by a Nebraska resident who complained about my support for the Convention of States (COS) initiative. They argued the process was illegitimate and dangerous and could lead to a run-away convention wiping out our beloved constitution, etc. Over the years I have devoted a number of these weeklies to this topic, so here goes.
