The Valentine Badgers competed at Ainsworth Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The top five finishers included: first place, Garrett Cumbow, 40; tie for second place, Westin Witte, 41; fourth place, Parker Wackler, 42; tie for fifth place, Tanner Two Strike, 43; and seventh place, Nash Hesse, 44.

The Valentine Badgers and Cody-Kilgore competed in the Sandhills Invite, Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Rock County. VHS Boys results are as follows through 15th place: 100 Meter Dash - first place, Dominic Beebout, 11.27; third place, Trystan Beebout, 11.53; seventh place, Isaac Utecht, 11.97; eighth place, Jackson Huggins, 12.27.

Register for annual Vanderheiden Run

Registration is open for the annual Tyler Vanderheiden Memorial Run, set for May 30 at Cody Park in North Platte. This race, to raise awareness of mental health, doubles as a fund raiser for Nebraska Game and Parks state park trails.

Baller Nation displays resilience at Queen City Classic Tournament

The Baller Nation travel basketball team participated in the 36th annual Queen City Classic, held in Spearfish, South Dakota, on March 27-28, 2026. The tournament brought teams from across South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming, featuring competitors ranging from elementary to high school age and varying skill levels. Baller Nation competed in the 8th-grade boys Gold division. The team is primarily comprised of players from Todd County Middle School.
