A kids fishing clinic was held May 6, 2023, at the Valentine Fish Hatchery, through the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Zac Brashears and Stephen Isom helped organize the event.

Cody-Kilgore qualified three athletes in five events for the 2023 NSAA State Track Meet held in Omaha on May 19-20, and brought home four medals. Senior Utre Noreikaite started off for Cody-Kilgore with the Class D Girls Discus on Friday morning, May 19.

The Badger golf team’s season came to an end with eight place finish at Districts. The team played at Kimball, and out of 15 schools competing, shot a 397. Coach Devin Muirhead said, “We did not have an individual placer in the top 10 that would qualify for state.”

Jennie Salters presented Jay Hollenbeck his Badger Fan of the Year award that he was honored with from the Badger Booster Sports Banquet. Hollenbeck wasn’t able to attend that evening..

Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the Cowboys and Cowgirls traveled to Plainview where they competed in D4 District Track. Individual girls results are as follows: Discus - first place, Urte Noreikaite - State Qualifier.

The Valentine Badgers competed at Districts in West Holt, Thursday, May 11, 2023. Individual boys results are as follows: 200 Meter Dash - fourth place, Lex Larsen, 23.47.
