There is no doubt the fish species that can send the largest number of anglers to the banks during the spring outbreak of fishing fever is crappies. Everyone loves to sit on a shoreline on a warm afternoon and experience a good crappie bite.

Anglers who catch walleyes in deep water should carry and learn how to use deep-water release devices to prevent fish deaths. Walleyes are moving away from their spawning locations into deep water.

Students aged 14-18 with an interest in rangeland management, conservation, ecology, animal science, and wildlife are encouraged to attend the 59th Nebraska Youth Range Camp at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.

Cody-Kilgore High School and Junior High participated in the Valentine Invite Thursday, May 4, 2023. Individual girls high school results are as follows: 100 Meter Dash - seventh place, Rachel Farley, 14.49.

Cody-Kilgore traveled to Arnold for the MNAC Track meet. The boys individual results are as follows: Shot Put - third place, Dylan Naslund.
