Badgers host invitational, take third place

Valentine hosted a two-day invitational wrestling tournament on December 17 -18, 2021 with 16 boys teams and nine girls teams competing in the tournament. The Winner, SD boys won the tournament with 235.5 points.

Big game meetings scheduled

Lady Badgers bested by Lady Bulldogs

The Lady Badgers traveled to Ainsworth to play the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday, December 14, 2021, and lost with a score of 38-59. Scoring by quarters: Valentine 11, 10, 9, 8 = 38 Ainsworth - 21, 21, 6, 11 = 59 High scorers were: Tacey From and Kailee Kellum each had 11 points; Kinsey Buechle had 10.

Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame nominations due by December 31

Time is quickly running out for the public to submit nominations for the 2022 Nebraska Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame. Nominations are due by December 31, 2021. Started in 2006, the Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame continues to honor the men and women who have made a lasting contribution to the Sandhills and our cowboy way of life.

Badger wrestlers bring home two first place honors

The Badger wrestling teams were busy this past week. The boys won both duals last Thursday. The night was highlighted by Ashton Lurz beating a state medalist in the closing seconds. Cody Miller turned in a strong performance in the dual against Chadron. Valentine hosted its first ever girls dual against Chadron. The Badgers lost the three contested matches, but wrestled tough, said Coach Shane Allison.
