Nationally, this monthlong shooting sports promotional event is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), and The Firearm Industry Trade Association.

Showcase your colorful skies at the library

The Sand Painter Art Club is encouraging artists of all ages, any location, to show their art at the Sky High/Colorful Skies Art Show at the Valentine Public Library for the September display. Ward receives National PEO Star Scholarship

Congratulations to Valentine’s Marybelle Ward on winning the National P.E.O. STAR scholarship. This $2,500 scholarship recognizes the accomplishments of graduating high school young women planning to pursue post-secondary education.

Ron and Becky Patton took students to the Northwest Indian Bible School in Montana last week, then detoured through Yellowstone, and on to visit Tom and Shauna Brewer en route home. Jimmy and Heidi Doyle, River and Bridger, along with River’s friends, and Matt and Kara Walkling, James and Carson and Vern and Marlys Walkling camped at Merritt Dam over the weekend.

A welcome break in the heat came this past weekend, just as the area is hoping to wrap up their haying. Where has the summer gone? Services were held Saturday, August 23 at the White Elephant Hall for our dear Joan (Schneider) Starr, with Dale Bowlin officiating.
