Cherry Hills Estates Assisted Living and Independent Senior Apartments Veterans Day Program honored all past and present veterans before a large crowd of residents and visitors. Pianist, Yvonne Hollenbeck played the Star Spangled Banner to open the ceremony followed by the introduction of the veterans in attendance.

There’s a new baby in Lakeview! Leora Jaye Schubauer was born November 4 to Jason and Lizzie Schubauer, weighing 7 lbs 12 ozs. She joins big sisters Ella, age 6, and Clara, age 4. Proud grandparents are Rick and Peggy Medema, Janel Schubauer and Mike Schubauer. Congratulations! (And yes, this great aunt thinks she’s adorable!)

Temps are dropping and basketball practice is starting. A bit of moisture would be welcome to lessen the fire dangers, but the corn picking is in full swing and moisture has been a bit of a challenge. If we weren’t complaining, we wouldn’t be breathing, I guess.
