The National Weather Service in North Platte has recognized Brown and Rock County as StormReady counties. The StormReady program helps community leaders and residents better prepare for hazardous weather and flooding. StormReady counties have made a strong commitment to implement the infrastructure and systems needed to save lives and protect property when severe weather strikes.

Pillen announces new appointments

LINCOLN – Nebraska Governorelect Jim Pillen announced Tom Riley will continue as the Director of the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources. Riley will be a critical leader in Governor-elect Pillen’s work to move the Perkins County Canal Project forward.
