Most of the rains have been missing our south river country, which has helped with the haying, but making us nervous about the storms avoiding us so often. With the horrible photos of hailstorm damage, methinks we shall count our blessings.

During the week of July 13-19, the following arrest was made: • On July 16, at 4:20 p.m., officers responded to an assault in the 300 block of North Valentine Street. A 28 year old South Dakota woman was arrested and charged with Assault in the First Degree, a felony, and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony.

North Platte, Neb., July 21 —The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Gudmundsen Sandhills Laboratory (GSL) will host its annual open house Wednesday, Aug. 20, near Whitman, Nebraska.
