The Sandhills Peacemakers Quilt Guild met May 23, at 1:00 p.m. for their meeting which was held at the Baptist Church in Valentine. There were 15 members present plus an additional eight to 10 guests present for the special meeting presented by Gordon’s Willow Tree Quilt Guild. The lesson presented was titled A Border Affair by Kristy Paul and Linda Anderson. They shared some wonderful ideas for adding borders to a quilt.

Bring your overgrown lilacs, forsythia, mock orange, pieris and other spring flowering shrubs down to size while maintaining their natural beauty and spring floral display. Prune spring blooming shrubs right after flowering for maximum flowering.

LINCOLN – Governor Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore revealed the design of the next general issue Nebraska license plate. The design is a mosaic pattern depicting the Genius of Creative Energy and is based on artwork inside the Nebraska Capitol Building.

Visit Nebraska parks, engage in healthy recreation — and possibly win prizes — by joining the 2022 Great Park Pursuit, an exploration of 20 official parks sites across the state. On 05/24/2022 at 12:50 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of West A Street for a male laying in the middle of the road. Subject was removed from the roadway.

MAY 31, 2022 (NORTH PLATTE, NE) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol removed from the road 20 impaired drivers during Memorial Day Weekend. Troopers also assisted 226 motorists in need of help throughout the state.
