CSC announces Dean’s List Chadron State College has announced the undergraduate students qualifying for the Spring 2024 Dean’s List. Students met the requirements for the Dean’s List by earning at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

2024 Sandhills Ranch Interns

Welcome to the Sandhills! The 2024 Sandhills Ranch Interns have officially started their summer internships. In its second year of the Sandhills Ranch Internship Program, The Sandhills Task Force has successfully connected 11 interns with key ranchers across Nebraska. The number of strong candidates applying for the program has been exceptional, and we are especially excited about the interns this year. We look forward to hearing all about their successful experiences.

Valentine’s Art District gets new sculptures!

What could be more inviting along Valentine’s Main Street - aside from quaint shops? Sculptures! They add interest, and allow the traveler, walker, or anyone who happens to pass by them, to wonder about the intention of the artist.

Fallen Hero Tree plantings at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine

Volunteers from the Middle Niobrara NRD and Valentine Cemetery Board planted, mulched, watered, and installed tree protectors on 60 trees along the road and columbarium on the south side of Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Trees planted were nine conifers, including: Douglas Fir and Eastern White Cedar; seven shrubs including Serviceberry and Dogwood; and 44 hardwoods including: Oak, Hackberry, Kentucky Coffee Tree, Walnut, Hickory and Chestnut.

4-H volunteers receive state-level awards

Rhonda Cherry, of Cherry County, is one of 11 individuals receiving Outstanding Adult Volunteer Awards. These awards recognize current volunteers who have served more than four years in their local 4-H community. One individual is recognized for each Nebraska Extension Engagement Zone.

Students recognized by NSAA and Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association

Since 2006, the Nebraska School Activities Association and the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association have recognized students who have been nominated by their schools, based on their individual academic excellence, leadership, and significant contributions made to their NSAA activity.
