Lincoln – Governor Jim Pillen announced the mobilization of the Nebraska Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team (TERT) to assist North Carolina as it continues to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The group deployed Friday, October 4 to Buncombe County for 14 days. That county is one of the hardest hit locations from the storm.

The Valentine City Council met for their regular meeting, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the City Library Meeting Room. The first evening was the overnight hours from October 7-8, 2024. Off in the northern sky, bright red and greens danced over the Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge and the Niobrara River.

Regional West Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce that $49,500 in scholarships has been awarded to 15 students enrolled at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) School of Nursing and Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC). Scholarship awards are split between the 2024 fall and 2025 spring semesters.
