Blue Thunder wins 2023 Name a Snowplow contest with Meowcicles

Friday, December 8, 2023, Rilynn Blue Thunder was recognized as the winner for the 2023 Name a Snowplow contest at Valentine Elementary School. There were almost 1,200 names submitted and Rilynn’s name, Meowcicles, was in the top 16, which was a winner.

Charcuterie boards and food safety

Charcuterie boards are extremely popular. A charcuterie board is an assortment of meats, cheeses, nuts, breads, olives, fruits, dips, and spreads - arranged on a cutting board or tray. It is important to make sure that you are following good food safety practices when preparing and serving charcuterie boards and other party trays such as butter, cream cheese, and dessert boards. Lakeview/Crookston

Jean Burge Vern and Marlys Walkling traveled to Pierre Saturday for Christmas at the Capitol to see the trees and listen to the music. They also watched the Rapid City Central vs Pierre girls basketball game later in the day.

BELL RINGERS NEEDED

Can you spare an hour or two to help The Salvation Army raise money to help families in need? Many spots are still open to ring the bells through December 23. Contact Lions Club member Shelley Pier at 402-322-5400 to get on the schedule. Ninety percent of the money raised stays in Cherry County.

Knudsen receives Caring Kind award

For 44 years, the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) has celebrated over 2,500 of Nebraska’s most caring and devoted health care employees by presenting them with The Caring Kind Award. NHA member hospitals, such as Cherry County Hospital, select recipients from within their organization to be acknowledged at The Caring Kind Awards Luncheon during the NHA Annual Convention.
