The Primary Election will be held May 10, 2022 and the General Election November 8, 2022. In Nebraska, the filing deadline for incumbents was 5:00 p.m., February 15, 2022; March 1, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

Your help is needed for Old West Days

The date has been set for the 31st annual Nebraska Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Old West Days: October 20-23, 2022. This gathering celebrates Western heritage and brings participants from around the country to Valentine to enjoy poetry and music from renowned artists.

VHS students request your knowledge, hobbies, and talents for Victor E. Days!

Valentine High School students would LOVE for you to come share your knowledge, hobbies, and talents at our annual Victor E. Days, which will be held on April 19-20. We want you to share your talents by hosting your own workshop for our students from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sessions can be as short as an hour or as long as an entire day. Other options include 90 minutes, two hours, or four hours.

Devlin Welch, Freshman

Devlin Welch deserves to be the Scholar of the Week, and I am so glad to have him in my class! He comes every day with a positive attitude and smile. He is sweet and kind and gives every assignment his best. He cares about his grades and asks questions to make sure he understands the material. He has worked hard to earn an A in English 1. Devlin, you are awesome! Keep up the great work!

Shrunk was 2021 Teigen Finnery Heart, Guts and Try award winner

Sage Schrunk of Valentine, was our 2021 Teigen Finnerty Heart, Guts and Try award winner, and was presented a buckle at our Ote Berry’s Junior Steer Wrestling World Championship Welcome Reception and Back Number Presentation at the South Point. Teigen's uncle Matt Finnerty was on hand to help recognize Sage, who also had his finals entry fees paid in Teigen's honor.

Nebraska Cattlemen calls for Beef Drafts to be cashed

LINCOLN, NE (February 21, 2022) - Nebraska Cattlemen requests those who have received a beef draft during the 2021 Nebraska State Fair to use the draft as soon as possible. Beef drafts will no longer be honored after May 1st, 2022. All beef drafts can be used at grocery stores for beef purchases or at restaurants while enjoying a beef meal.

Tagg Buechle, Sr., Wrestling

Tagg Buechle won a loaded district bracket and helped lead his team to a district championship. Tagg leads by example, and always works hard. Tagg is coming off an injury and not missing a stride. He wrestled tough at state finishing with a fourth place medal. Tagg is an inspiration to his team and school!

Schedule for Sermons-a-la- Carte

The Valentine Ministerial Association will be hosting Sermons-ala-Carte. The service starts at 12:00 noon at the Episcopal Church, 372 N. Main St. Service ends at 12:30 followed by food and fellowship in the Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall Those who need to get back to work by 1:00 p.m. are invited to go through the line first.
