The Badger Effort Award is based on the school's character education. Students who demonstrate Character In Action (CIA), responsibility, accountability, honesty, empathy, and respect were nominated by their classroom teachers and staff. Congratulations to the Valentine Middle School second quarter Badger Effort recipients!

Madelyn Grace Pilakowski, Senior Madelyn is an excellent student who has a really challenging schedule. Of the seven classes she’s enrolled in six of those are for dual credit.

The VCS Board of Education recognized VHS One Act Play team for their outstanding season including a District Championship and competition at the State Championships. One Act Play competed in the State Championship Competition, Friday, December 10 at the Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk, receiving a fifth place win.

Bomgaars holds an annual event known as Ladies Night. The purpose of this event is to help raise awareness of women’s health issues. The intent is to have a “Night of Festive and Fall Shopping” with discounts offered to the ladies in attendance.

MULLEN, (Jan 7, 2022) - The Sandhills Journey National Scenic Byway is excited to announce the upcoming 14th annual Polar Bear Tank Race. After being canceled last year, this unique fun-filled event will be held March 4-5, 2022, on the Middle Loup River north of Mullen.

Niobrara Refuge staff and volunteers took part in the 122nd annual National Christmas Bird Count, coordinated by The Audubon Society. The Christmas Bird Count, which began in 1900, runs from December 14 - January 5, with over 2,100 survey areas in the United States and 80,000 volunteers.
