I have a large framed picture in my office. A blond girl, age four or five, is looking out a window. She can barely get her chin to the base of the window frame; but the sunshine pouring through the panes lights up her little face. She’s gazing at a mother bird that has made a nest for her baby on a branch outside just barely touching the window. Three white flowers hint of gardenia blossoms. The lower base of the window frame could be large enough for a little girl to sit on. Her chubby hand grasps that ledge as she intently gazes through the glass. Her eyes are riveted on what’s beyond.
