Lawrence-Strawn Reunion

The Lawrence-Strawn annual picnic was held August 6, 2023 at the Valentine City Park. It was a lot smaller group than last year but a good time was still had. There were seven first cousins in attendance, descendants of Joe and Linnie (Strawn) Lawrence.

Jury finds Kilmer guilty in the axe murder of Wittmus

The jury found Kevin T. Kilmer guilty of first degree murder, Tuesday, August 8, 2023. He was charged with the death of Ruth Ann Wittmus on or about August 24, 2021. A complaint had been filed which said: Class 1 or 1A Felony, Murder in the First Degree, and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, along with the penalties.
