Valentine City Council approves 60 day extension on proposed wellness center

The Valentine City Council met for their regular meeting, Thursday, July13, 2023, at the City Library Meeting Room. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: City Clerk Deanna Schmit, City Manager Shane Siewert, Council members Kyle Arganbright, Kalli Kieborz, Neil Wescott and Ross Brockley. Brad Arnold was excused absence.

Governor Pillen hosts town hall at Mid Plains

Thursday, June 29, 2023, Governor Jim Pillen visited with the constituents of Cherry County at Mid Plains Community College during his two day fly-around central and western Nebraska. The topic of his town halls were highlight of the 2023 Legislative Session.

Troopers make 36 DUI arrests in Independence Day holiday campaign

JULY 6, 2023, LINCOLN — Nebraska State Troopers took 36 impaired drivers off the road in the days surrounding the Independence Day holiday. “Our troopers stayed busy last weekend as Nebraskans gathered to celebrate America,” said Colonel John Bolduc, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol.
