Joseph William Gilbuena was born December 13, 1944, in Richmond, VA, to Joe Gomez Gilbuena and Marjorie Louise (Gould). He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 25, 2025, in Norfolk, NE.

Jonita Marie (Sears) Hain was born February 27, 1942 in Valentine, NE to loving parents Joe and Helen Sears. She grew up on the Sears cattle ranch just outside of Valentine, where she and her seven siblings worked outdoors on the ranch as well as indoors helping her mother with daily living chores. Jonita attended high school in Curtis, NE with a couple of her sisters. She moved to Boulder, CO shortly after high school where she attended The University of Colorado. Jonita moved back to Valentine and began working at the Bank of Valentine. In 1965, while working at the bank, she met her husband, Larry Hain, who was traveling from Omaha on business. It was “love at first sight!” Jonita said to herself, “I’m going to marry that man.”

Richard “Dick” Whipple was born October 26, 1940 in Rosebud, SD to Alex “Bob” Whipple and Carrie (Coleman) Whipple who both preceded him in death. He was the youngest of five siblings.

Carol Jean (Banek) Hutchinson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Avera Maryhouse in Pierre, SD after a courageous battle with cancer.

Denise D. Nolda, 65, of Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at Country House in Kearney surrounded by the love of her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, after a long and courageous battle with muscular dystrophy and dementia. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., April 11, 2025, at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., at the Bartlett Cemetery. Loretta Lynn Fish lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community. Born Tuesday, July 16, 1963 at 12:10 a.m., in Ainsworth, NE, to Harold and Annabelle Nelson. Loretta was the youngest of four girls, being the baby, her sisters always kept close tabs on her. Her sisters ensured that even when distance separated them, their bond remained strong through phone calls.

Doris Marie Cochran (née Camm) passed away December 29, 2024, in Ft. Collins, CO, at Pathways Hospice, surrounded by friends and family.

Timothy Alan Baughman, 55, of Lincoln, NE passed away March 18, 2025. Born August 5, 1969, in Mineral Wells, TX to Roger and Phyllis (Sukovaty) Baughman.

Betty Lou (Borszich) Epke was born January 6, 1928, at home in Lakeview, SD, to Julius (Jake) and Abra (Lizzie) Borszich. She received her early schooling in Lakeview, SD, and graduated from Todd County High School in 1943.

Mary Ann Reiser, 89 of Kearney, formerly of Taylor, TX passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Wel-Life Assisted Living in Kearney. Mary Ann was born June 23, 1935 in Valentine, NE to Andrew and Frances (Hostetter) Koralewski.
