Richard “Dick” Higgins passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 with his loving family by his side. The oldest child of Edward(Ted)and Thelma Higgins, Dick was born in Scottsbluff, then raised in Valentine, where he was a proud graduate of the VHS class of 1958.

Zale Kenneth Quible, 79, of Merriman passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family April 13, 2024 after a monthslong battle with pancreatic cancer. Zale was the youngest of three children born to Kenneth and Clare (Beyersdorf) Quible June 27, 1944.

Sharon M. O’Kief, beloved Mother, Grandma, Sister and so much more was called to God on March 13, 2024, at age 86. She was born Sharon Marie Moran on November 5, 1937 in Omaha to James J. Moran and Alice (Adrian) Moran. Sharon was the second of five children born to JJ and Alice, with her siblings Michael (who died at birth), Kathy (Foote), Nancy (Kahm), Tim Moran and John Moran. Sharon remained close with her siblings and their families throughout her life.

Gerald “Jerry” Bennett, age 92, passed away in his home under hospice care in Cornville, AZ April 4, 2024. (Picture taken on his 90th birthday with his buddy, Rex.) Jerry was born at home in the Simeon Community south of Valentine in Cherry County, delivered by his grandmother, Nellie Bennett, a nurse and midwife, September 1, 1931 to Charlie and Alberta Harms Bennett.

Robert Clayton Grabher passed away April 4, 2024 at the age of 89 years. Bob was born September 19, 1934 to Otho C. and Elizabeth K. (Keiser) Grabher in Alliance. He attended school in Alliance, and graduated from Alliance High School in 1953. He attended college in Boulder, CO and Kearney, where he received his teaching degree.

Graveside services for Ann Hale, 85 of Merriman will be April 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. MST at Merriman Memorial Cemetery, Merriman. She passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

Ronald James Dorsey lived life to the fullest, from the time he was born on July 9, 1942, until he was called to his Maker on April 4, 2024, at the age of 81. His heart and his dreams were as boundless as the prairie ranches, he worked his entire life and the Sandhills he called home.

Lewis William Johnson, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many, passed away March 27, 2024. Born in a two bedroom farmhouse February 26, 1932 to John Edwin and Docia Mae Johnson, Lew grew up in Verona, MO.

Linda Joyce Ford left this earthly world March 20, 2024 surrounded by her family in Cody. Two spine surgeries, a heart attack and triple bypass surgery, uterine, colon, nor breast cancer could knock her down, but two tumors in her pancreas won the hard fought battle.

Forrest Lee Eberly, 80, of Cody went home to Jesus on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Forrest (Woody) was born July 15, 1943 in Mullen, to Forrest Fremont Eberly and Leona (Sieck) Eberly.
