Priscilla ( Sally) Anne Grooms, age 92, passed away on December 24 in Casper, WY. She was born to Clarence and Eva Mae Kellogg on May 2, 1930, in Valentine and spent her childhood on the family ranch near Sparks. In 1952 Sally married Ed Grooms in Valentine. They moved to Ainsworth in 1954, then moved to Chadron in 1964 and in 1966 moved to Torrington, Wyoming followed by a transfer to Worland, WY in 1977. The couple moved to Casper, WY in 2018. Sally worked at various jobs throughout her working life such as church secretary, elementary school librarian, Avon sales, realtor, and a position in the Washakie County District Court office. Sally had two sons, Ted (1953) and Greg (1956). Family and friends were her top priority. She was known for her baking, family meals, coffees with friends and holiday gatherings. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Worland and attended First Christian Church regularly in Casper.

Tim Assman, 38, of Mission, SD, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Valentine. A private family burial will occur at a later date. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Valentine Methodist Church from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Holmes Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

On Friday, December 16, 2022 the world became a little bit darker. Ronald Duane Schneider went quietly into the good night.

Grandma Janice created a legacy wi th my grandpa, Larry Hollers. They were an example to me of a committed marriage. Grandma Jan loved her husband and was excited to join him in heaven for all of eternity.

Galen Roy Sherman, 69, of rural Valentine passed away Friday, December 16,2022 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. He was born January 11, 1953 in Broken Bow, the son of Hugh and Roberta Lawlis-Sherman.

Dale James Morgan was born on October 14,1944 in Valentine. Dale was the youngest of seven children, born to Jennings and Helen (Parker) Morgan.

Melissa Lea Harp, 39, of Lincoln, died on December 6, 2022 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln. Ms.

Kathleen Lenore Miles of Thedford was born March 24, 1928 in Fairbury to Matt M. and Rose Dailey Shanley and died December 7, 2022 at the age of 94 at Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway.

Ronald Scranton passed away December 4, 2022 at Hospice House in Rapid City, SD. He was born in Antelope County, Nebraska on January 28, 1934 to Hattie and Ed Scranton. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1952 where he played football, basketball and was a member of National Honor Society. He went on to earn college credits from Hastings College, BHTC in Spearfish, SD and earned a degree in Business from the University of South Dakota School of Business in 1964.

Ed Vinton, knownbymany as the “King of Nebraska” and “Eli Kid” left this world too soononNovember 15, 2022. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, deAlva, honorary wives Wissal Byrnes, Julie Davy and Kyle Brooks along with furbabies Alley, Brownie, #3, Scout, Mickey, Sophie and numerous possums, raccoons, geese and the birds he fed daily. Anne Strozier (Momma) will miss her favorite (and only) son-in-law and their Rummikub games and weekly breakfast.
