Carolyn June Titus, age 68, peacefully passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Connot Brothers Auction Building located at 329 E. 1st Street in Valentine, Sunday, October 8, from 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Margaret “Margie” Anne Walsh Warren was born December 28, 1950, in Centerville, IA to Howard and Wanda (Dorsett) Walsh, and passed away on Tuesday, September 19 at her home. Margie attended grade school in Brownlee, and graduated from high school in Thedford in 1969.

Eldon Dean Haas was born November 24, 1953 to Leland and Gladys (Sharp) Haas in Valentine. He received his education at Valentine Public Schools and Kearney State College and enjoyed all of the sports which led to a career in teaching and coaching. He went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2023 in Omaha.

Sylvia Peed, age 71, passed away August 31, 2023 in Lakewood, WA. Sylvia was born June 16, 1952 to Harold and Leah Peed in Winner, SD and was raised in Seattle, WA.

Betty Fern Clark was born July 31, 1924 at Cody. She was the eighth of 10 children born to Charles and Gertrude (Savage) Clark.

Graveside Services for Orma J. (Yocum) Lang, age 94, of Norfolk, will be 12:00 p. m., Saturday, September 30, at the Humboldt City Cemetery in Humboldt. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the Humboldt United Methodist Church, 304 South Nemaha Street. Visitation with family will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday, September 29, at the Westridge United Methodist Church, 2000 W. Norfolk Avenue, in Norfolk. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

Wilbur L. Newland 80, of Grand Island, formerly of Ravenna passed away on September 1, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society from a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Patricia L. “Pat” Bachelor-Showalter, 91, passed away, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Cherry Hills Assisted Living in Valentine.

Judy McGuire passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, at Bryan Memorial Hospital, at the age of 80. She is survived by three children, Debra McGuire, Jason McGuire, and Mayde (Mary) Mc-Guire, all of Lincoln; by two sisters, LaVeta Sargent of Lincoln, and Bonita Parks of Ord; and by six and 2/3 grandchildren: Morgan, Rian, Devan, Haydn, Cooper, Kaia, and one on the way.

Larry William Hissong, 71, of Ord, passed away August 26, 2023, at CHI Good Samaritan in Kearney, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on January 26, 1952, in Troy, OH, the son of the late Harvey and Virginia (Denison) Hissong. He was one of three children. Larry married Sharon Mulanax in Troy, OH, and to that marriage Travis Lee was born. Larry later married Cynthia Mizner on July 3, 1980, in Ainsworth. To this marriage Jason Scott was born, and he adopted Bobbie Jo, and Chad Allen.
