In 1966, the good people of Nebraska had grown tired of paying high property taxes. They collected the needed signatures on a ballot initiative and they put the question on the November ballot.

Businesses across our economy – both small businesses supporting communities across Nebraska and manufacturers making and selling products at home and abroad – thrive under a broad-based tax code that rewards hard work and American innovation. The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) helped raise wages, drive economic growth, and reduce the tax burden on Americans, while also increasing revenue.

Lincoln – The first human case of West Nile virus for the 2023 season has been found in the Three Rivers Public Health District. The person who tested positive was not hospitalized according to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

The 108th Legislature First Session was a hot mess. The fact that three senators could derail the work of 46 others in the nation’s only one-house, allegedly nonpartisan Legislature, speaks volumes.

The Nebraska Legislature has completed its work for the 2023 regular session. Now that the Legislature has adjourned for the year, we shift to a different routine over the interim.
