Valentine High School 2021 Honor Awards were presented Monday, May 10, 2021. National Honor Society Officers are as follows: President Elliana Springer; Vice President Calvin Stoeger; Secretary Delaney Robison; Treasurer Fletcher Larsen.

The Cody-Kilgore JV team competed at Valentine’s Invitational, Friday, May 7, 2021. Cody-Kilgore Girls JV team placed first with 104 points.

The Cody-Kilgore Track Team competed in the NSAA D-4 District Track meet Wednesday, May 12, in Atkinson. Qualifying for the NSAA State Track meet are Elle Ravenscroft in the Shot Put and 100 Meter Dash and Dylan Nasland in the Discus and Shot Put.

In preparation for the Nebraska State Track Meet, the Valentine Track Team competed in the NSAA C-5 Districts Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Atkinson. The Valentine Badgers will be represented by six tracksters in 11 events at the 2021 Class C NSAA State Track meet in Omaha.

Coach Devin Muirhead called the it a “great day,” when the Valentine team won the invitation with their lowest score of the season with a 368. There were two medalists, Ryan O’Kief was the first place champion with a personal best of 77.

“Exciting day...” said Coach Devin Muirhead. “Ryan O’Kief tied for first place with an 83 and went to a sudden-death playoff against Preston Crosley from Niobrara/ Verdigre. Ryan won the playoff in two holes with back-to-back pars.”
