Badgers win last home game

The Badger basketball team played their final home game of the season versus the North Central Knights. The Badgers took control and outscored the Knights in every quarter, but with a high of 42 points in the first half to North Central’s 15.

Sprenger breaks season point record!

Thursday, February 13, the Lady Badgers took on the North Central Knights. The Lady Knights enter the matchup with a record of 1111.

Eggert headed to NSAA State Wrestling!

“Overall, I thought our girls wrestled very well. We lost several in the heartbreak round to go to state, but each of those that lost will be back next year. I'm excited for Reegan Eggert to get the opportunity to wrestle at the State tournament!” Coach Marcus Nelson said of the tournaments held February 8, 2025.

Badger Speech results from West Holt

Results from the West Holt Speech invite are as follows: Seniors Marybelle Ward took fourth in Entertainment, Jenalee Garwood earned fourth in extemp and eighth in informative. Junior Sari LaDeaux earned a third in novice poetry and a firstplace finish in novice serious.

Badgers start February off strong

Both basketball teams had a little break coming off the SWC tournament. With a week of practices the teams headed to Gothenburg to face the Swedes, a team the Lady Badgers were beaten by ten days prior. In their first match up the Lady Badgers were without two of their starters. This time around they had a full healthy team.

Lady Badgers have a tough go at SWC

The Lady Badgers had a tough run on the road during the Southwest Conference tournament. The first round had the Lady Badgers playing the Gothenburg Swedes, a 14-1 team. With two starters not feeling up to par, the team would have to play a lot of basketball. Unfortunately,theBadgerscouldn’t muster up enough to get past the Swedes, 72-15.

Cowgirls cage Bobcats in Hemingford

The Cowgirls hit the trail to Hemingford for a rematch against the Bobcats Tuesday, January 28, 2025. The Cowgirls defeated the Bobcats during the second round of the Panhandle Activities Conference basketball tournament the previous week. The road trip netted a second consecutive victory over Hemingford, though it was a contest with the Cowgirls winning 47-41.

Illness besets the Badgers at SWC

The Badger Basketball team headed to Cozad January 28, 2025 for their first round of SWC play. The Badgers had the lead going into half-time, but the Haymakers put on their defense and held the Badgers to only 10 points in the second half of play. Cozad took game #1 with a score of 52-40. Andon Olson led the team with 14 points, and Dominic Beebout was behind him with 10.

Cowboys defeat Hemingford

The Cowboys (9-6) hit the road to Hemingford with their eyes set for a win against the Bobcats (8-6). And win they did. The game started in the Cowboy’s favor, but the Bobcats proved that they weren’t to be discounted so quickly.
