The Cowboys traveled to Arthur County Friday, September 2, 2022. The Cowboys were bested by the Wolves and lost with a score of 20-48.

The Badgers hosted Alliance Friday, September 9, 2022 and came away the winners with a score of 46-12. Coach Ian Bish said, “We did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage up front on both sides of the ball.

The Lady Badgers traveled to Chadron, Tuesday, September 6, and came away with first place out of eight teams with a combined score of 408. Scottsbluff was in second place with 421; Gering, 436; Sidney, 478; Mitchell, 481; Chadron, 484; Grodon-Rushville, 554; Bayard, 631, and Alliance rounding out the teams.

Ten teams competed Thursday, September 1, 2020 at Atkinson. The Lady Badgers placed second with 401. Placing first was O’Neill with 399. Rounding out the scoring were Pierce in third place with 412; Battle Creek, 428; West Holt, 447; Boone Central, 483; Crofton, 490; West Holt JV, 516; Ainsworth, 620, and Elkhorn Valley.

Before competitions began, the Valentine High School Cross Country Team participated in a Fun Run at Fredrick Peak golf course, Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Thursday, September 1, the team traveled to Ainsworth for their 15th annual invitational, held at the ainsworth Municiipal golf course.

Thursday, September 1, 2022, the Lady Badgers hosted the Winner Warriors. Scoring was as follows: Valentine - 22, 28, 9, 25, 15 = 3 Winner - 25, 26, 25, 17, 9 = 2 There were 33 kills in the game with Kinsey Buechle leading with 10, followed by Lainey Egelhoff with 9, Ashlee Bacon with 5, Malika Monroe and Finley Mosner each with 3, Aubrey Benson with 2, and Kimber McGinley 1.

Cody-Kilgore athletes had a great opening week for the fall sports season. Starting off with the Cowgirls winning their triangular against Banner County and Sandhills-Thedford. Winning both games in two sets each.

The Lady Badgers won their season opener against Bennett County in three sets. Hosting the Warriors Thursday, August 25, 2022, the set scores are as follows: Valentine - 25, 25, 25 = 3 Bennett County - 14, 13, 11 = 0 Leading in kills was Malika Monroe with 9; Lainey Egelhoff, 7; Kinsey Buechle, 5; Ashlee Bacon, 3.

The Lady Badgers took first place out of five teams at the Ainsworth Invitational. Team scores are as follows: first place, Valentine, 364; second place, O’Neill, 397; third place, West Holt, 420; fourth place, West Holt JV, 526; fifth place, Ainsworth, 552.

Friday, August 26, 2022 was the first football game of the season for the Badgers, which was also parents night where Football, Cheer, and Girls Golf were recognized. The Badgers hosted West Holt and won with a score of 41-6.
