    Congratulations Cody-Kilgore and Valentine High School Class of 2022

    Cody-Kilgore’s class of 2022 held their Commencement Exercises Saturday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. MST. Their class flower was the orange dahlia; class colors, black, white, and orange; class song, We are Young by Fun; and class motto: “I regret nothing. The end.” Ron Swanson. They had two honor speakers, Riley Jones and Annalise Busentiz. Here is what Riley said to her fellow classmates and audience members:

    Sweet Aura Spa and Salon holds Ribbon Cutting

    Kallah Markley was born and raised in the Heart City, and is the owner of Sweet Aura Spa and Salon. “I have the best husband and two amazing boys. I am happy to raise my family in this small town. Recently we decided to expand my business by opening a new spa and salon! I have been a licensed beautician for 10 years with specialized training in facials, waxing, eye lash lift and tint, dermaplaning, and chemical peels.

    VHS Sports Banquet results

    The Valentine High School Sports Banquet was held at the Peppermill, Sunday, May 1, 2022. Becca McGinley, pictured at left, received the Senior Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year’ Gunnar Battershaw received the Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year and is not pictured.

    Valentine hosts invite

    Friday, May 6, 2022, Valentine hosted their invitational. Individual results for the Valentine Girls results through 20th place are as follows: 100 Meter Dash - third place, Saylor Biltoft, 13.94; sixth place, Malika Monroe, 14.25; 13th place, Talia Wenig, 14.75; 14th place, Neeley Cronin, 15.40; 15th place, Joslyn Yarbrough, 15.55; 18th place, Courtney Billings, 16.47; 19th place, Chiara Enrico, 17.87.

    Meet and Greet held to discuss upcoming summer season and possible challenges

    Emergency Manager Matt Sandoz hosted a Meet and Greet for emergency responders, Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Valentine Fire Hall. The meeting was held to identify all available resources to meet the challenges that this summer can bring. There was discussion on radio communications, towers available and frequencies used.

    More rainfall - thank you!

    The rain fell so hard, it was difficult to see for a while - even while wipers were going full blast. The rain fell so hard the drops are pounding into the puddles at the side of the road, Saturday, May 7, 2022. There were a few hail stones that fell as well. A total of .63 inches of rain fell according to NOAA Weather. Winds gusted as high as 56 mph with a high temperature of 88 degrees.
