    Poppy Posters advance to Regional competition

    Leo Brinda Unit #90 was well-represented at the state level for the 2025 Poppy Poster contest! Kadence Bear Heels received first place in Class 1 and Jenalee Garwood received first place in Class 6. Harley Jo Thorpe received third place in Class 3. Kadence and Jenalee’s posters have advanced on to the Regional competition.

    GNST SwimTeam

    GNST includes teams from Kearney, North Platte, McCook, and Valentine. This includes all of Western Nebraska which allows them all to compete with the bigger teams.

    August Artist of the Month Denise Adcock

    The Sand Painters Artist of the Month for August is Denise Adcock. Her art is on display at Security First Bank, Sandhills State Bank, Union Bank, Viaero and MPCC.

    Nebraska Star Party has record setting attendance

    The weather wasn’t the most cooperative for the record setting crowd, but - they weren’t rained, smoked, or stormed out said organizers of the 32nd annual Nebraska Star Party with the theme Step into the Darkness. They met at the Snake Arm of Merritt Reservoir, where dark skies reign supreme.

    Three retire from EMS with over 75 years of combined experience

    Cherry County Hospital Ambulance announced the retirement of several members. Pictured above, Leroy and Kate Songer with CCHA President Duane Lamb. Leroy had over 30 years of service, while his wife Kate had just under 30 years in EMS. Pictured above right, Linda Ramos had 15 years of service.
