Dakota and Kayla Walkling traveled to Utah for the NASP national tournament with two 5th grade archers. This is their first year of competitive archery. Dakota received an invitation to the national tournament after learning the girls qualified in the top 10 for elementary girls at the state tournament in Spearfish, SD for the 3-D competition. Congratulations!

Mulching helps our gardens, trees, and flower beds with weed control, conserving moisture, and reducing erosion and water runoff. Organic mulch such as straw, grass clippings, or wood chips are much preferred over materials like plastic or rubber. Use 2-4 inches of mulch material and make sure to leave the base of your tree or plant more open resulting in a concave bowl shape versus a volcanoshaped mound. Too much mulch and you will suffocate your plant as oxygen and water are unable to reach the roots.

Lincoln – The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will continue to cover child care workers’ fingerprinting fees until April 30, 2029. The $45.25 fee is required by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) for background checks.
